“Nowadays, we live in a world “obsessed” to make even smaller electronic technology such as cell phones, computers, watches, TVs, videos, radios, etc. This insatiable quest for miniaturization was impossible before the stage of solid-state electronics. Everybody knows about the importance of transistors (1947) in electronics history. But the next stage of Integrated Circuits (multiple number of transistors and passive components, interconnected in a piece of silicon or other semiconductor material with 1cm2 or smaller), truly advanced with this process. However, the operational amplifiers (commonly known as op amps) were even more important.”
